Imperial Palace Hotel first opened on September 18, 1989, starting as a deluxe hotel and becoming a superior deluxe hotel after 10 years in June 1999. The hotel has remained the pride of the Korean hotel industry thanks to its effective management and improving domestic capital. Jinmi Pyeongyang Naengmyeon is a renowned Pyeongyang naengmyeon (Pyeongyang cold buckwheat noodles) specialty restaurant run by Chef Im Sekwon, who has accumulated years of experience in Jangchung-dong. Its signature dish is the naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles), offering a clean broth and chewy noodles. Additionally, they offer menu items such as jeyuk (spicy stir-fried pork), mandu, and bulgogi that complement the noodles perfectly. Renowned to the extent of long queues, it was selected for the Michelin Guide Seoul 2023.

Gebang Sikdang’s gejang (marinated crab) was so highly rated that the restaurant was included in the MICHELIN Guide Seoul 2023. Gejang (marinated crab) is a dish where blue crab, cleanly washed and prepared, is marinated and aged in a sauce made with soy sauce, chili pepper powder, garlic, ginger, rice malt, etc. The restaurant is most famous for its ganjang gejang (soy sauce marinated crab) and yangnyeom gejang (spicy marinated crab). Other popular dishes include kkotgetang (spicy blue crab stew) and gejang bibimbap (marinated crab bibimbap). Set menus come with steamed rice, soup, and side dishes.
