This classic musical has proven both its artistic merit and popular appeal, winning the Best Composer/Music Director Award at the Korea Musical Awards and the Best Book Award at the Yegreen Musical Awards. It has already toured 16 regions in Korea since 2017, and even staged licensed productions in China.
The young composer Rachmaninoff, once the focus of high expectations for his remarkable talent, falls into deep seclusion and a crippling slump after the disastrous premiere of his First Symphony. Seeking him out, psychiatrist Dr. Nikolai Dahl guides him through conversations and therapy to confront his trauma head-on.
Throughout this tightly woven two-hander, Rachmaninoff’s signature lyrical masterpieces are performed live, offering audiences a rare and intimate journey into the scars and healing of a great artist, and the hope that emerges as he rises from despair to make strides once again.
